Any person can struggle with food, and that struggle will differ from person to person. And, it can feel very lonely and isolating without people around you who can understand.
Some people have eating disorders; anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), and other specified feeding and eating disorder (OSFED).
Some people have "disordered eating". These struggles can look like: an intense focus on only eating "healthy" foods, stress or anxiety around "fear foods" or "unhealthy foods", chronic dieting, and pre-occupation with food.

If this sounds difficult, you are probably right. Years, if not decades of following food rules will take some time to untangle. It will not be easy, you might shed a tear and you might want to quit. The path to recovery, while hard, is worth it. Whether you’ve been diagnosed with an eating disorder, identify with disordered eating patterns, or just are sick of being at war with food and your body—we are here for you. Years of diet culture and/or eating disorder behaviors has taken too much from you. We are here for you when you are ready to heal.
Disordered eating and eating disorders can make food a source of anxiety and stress. I am of the belief that eating should be easy, and that you deserve to heal your relationship with food.

Disordered eating and eating disorders can make food a source of anxiety and stress. I am of the belief that eating should be easy, and that you deserve to heal your relationship with food.
Nutrition counseling and nutrition education is an essential part of healing a broken relationship with food. During our sessions, we will work as a team. Together we will walk the path that meets my knowledge of nutrition recovery and your knowledge of yourself. I am fairly confident you know nutrition, calories, macros. I am certain you have read the blogs, books and headlines. It would surprise me if you don't believe that food doesn't have to be a chore.
Together, we will dismantle years of not eating for joy or pleasure. We will start the process of letting food just be food.
All appointments are virtual at this time. We are licensed in Missouri and Illinois.
